About the course
These resources are intended for counsellors, psychologists, pedagogues, wellbeing specialists and trainers working in individual or group settings. They provide structured yet flexible tools that can be integrated into counselling sessions, workshops, supervision meetings or professional development programmes.
The training materials are grounded in an embodied and relational understanding of stress. They acknowledge that educators often carry stress not only cognitively, but also physically and emotionally. By introducing movement- and play-based approaches, the resources help counsellors create safe spaces where adults can explore stress regulation in a non-threatening, accessible way.

The MPSA Training Resources include:
guidance on introducing movement and play in adult support settings
reflective frameworks that support self-awareness and emotional regulation
adaptable activity formats suitable for different group sizes and timeframes
suggestions for linking embodied experiences with verbal reflection
Importantly, the materials do not aim to replace existing therapeutic or counselling approaches. Instead, they complement professional practice by offering additional, preventive tools that can be used before stress becomes overwhelming. The activities are low-threshold and do not require specialised equipment, making them suitable for a wide range of institutional contexts.

Counsellors are encouraged to adapt the resources to their own professional style and the needs of the educators they support. The emphasis is on facilitation rather than instruction, allowing participants to remain in control of their experience and boundaries.
Used alongside the MPSA MOOC and self-reflection cards, the training resources contribute to a coherent support system for educators’ wellbeing. They help shift the focus from crisis intervention to early prevention, supporting more sustainable and compassionate approaches to mental health in education.
