Quick Games and Activities for Work: Boost Creativity and Energy in Minutes

While concentrating on our daily tasks, it’s easy to forget to take breaks and relax. However, short breaks from work are essential for maintaining concentration, creativity, and well-being. Fortunately, there are many quick games and activities that can be organized in the workplace, requiring minimal time and space. Here are a few inspirations:

Creative Drawing:

  • Rules: Participants draw something based on a given topic or word in a set amount of time. You can draw individually or in pairs/teams.
  • Benefits: Stimulates creativity, abstract thinking, and artistic skills.
  • Preparation: You need paper and drawing supplies.

Brain Teasers:

  • Math:
    • How many letters are in the word “five”? (Answer: 4)
    • If you add one more wheel to a two-wheeled bicycle, how many wheels does it have? (Answer: Three, because one wheel is part of the bike and two are added)
    • A mother is 26 years old and her daughter is 6 years old. How many years will the mother be older than the daughter in 10 years? (Answer: 20, because the age difference will always be 20 years)
  • Logic:
    • What is as light as a feather, but the strongest man in the world cannot lift it? (Answer: Breath)
    • What has a neck but no head, a body but no legs? (Answer: A shirt)
    • How many times can you subtract 5 from 25? (Answer: Four, because 25 – 5 = 20, 20 – 5 = 15, 15 – 5 = 10, 10 – 5 = 5)

Word Games:

  • City-Country-River:
    • Players write down a table on a piece of paper with columns for the categories: City, Country, River, Mountain, Animal.
    • The first person says a category and comes up with a word on that letter, e.g. “City: Krakow”.
    • The other players have one minute to come up with a word on the same letter in the remaining categories, e.g. “Country: Canada”, “River: Vistula”, “Mountain: K2”, “Animal: Horse”.
    • The first person to write down all the words in their table wins the round.
  • Verbal Pictionary:
    • One player chooses a word and says it aloud, but they cannot show it with a gesture.
    • The other players take turns giving clues, and the leader says “yes” or “no” depending on whether the

Additional tips:

  • Get others involved in the game! The more people who participate, the more fun and benefits there will be.
  • Adapt the games to the time and space available. Choose short and simple games that don’t require a lot of space.
  • Have fun! The most important thing is to relax and enjoy the game.
