Six Engaging Party Games for Adults (No Alcohol Required)

Liven up your next gathering with these fun and interactive party games that don’t require a single drop of alcohol. Whether you’re hosting a game night with friends, a family reunion, or a casual get-together, these games are sure to bring laughter, excitement, and create lasting memories.

  1. Two Truths and a Lie

Objective: To test your friends’ ability to spot deception and reveal your hidden depths.

Materials: None

Instructions:

  1. Each player takes a turn stating three things about themselves: two true statements and one lie.
  2. Other players try to guess which statement is the lie.
  3. The player who correctly identifies the lie scores a point.
  1. Charades

Objective: To convey words, phrases, or titles through nonverbal gestures and acting without speaking.

Materials: Paper and pens/pencils

Instructions:

  1. Divide the players into two teams.
  2. One player from Team A volunteers to act out a word, phrase, or title written on a piece of paper by a teammate.
  3. Their teammates try to guess the word within a set time limit.
  4. If the team guesses correctly, they get a point. Then, a player from Team B takes their turn.
  1. Never Have I Ever

Objective: To reveal common and uncommon experiences while having a lighthearted and humorous exchange.

Materials: None

Instructions:

  1. Players take turns saying “Never have I ever…” followed by an experience they have never done.
  2. If any other player has done that experience, they must put down a finger.
  3. The first player to put down all their fingers loses the game.
  1. Pictionary

Objective: To test your drawing skills and your teammates’ ability to decipher your artistic creations.

Materials: Paper, pens/pencils, and a whiteboard or large piece of paper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Divide the players into two teams.
  2. One player from Team A volunteers to draw a word, phrase, or title written on a piece of paper by a teammate.
  3. Their teammates try to guess the word within a set time limit.
  4. If the team guesses correctly, they get a point. Then, a player from Team B takes their turn.
  1. Scattergories

Objective: To flex your vocabulary and creativity while thinking under pressure.

Materials: Paper, pens/pencils, and a category list (prepared beforehand or found online)

Instructions:

  1. Each player takes a piece of paper and writes down the categories at the top.
  2. Set a timer for a short period (e.g., 2 minutes).
  3. When the timer starts, each player writes down a word starting with the same letter for each category.
  4. For example, if the categories are “Animals,” “Countries,” and “Food,” and the letter is “A,” a player might write “Ant,” “Australia,” and “Apple.”
  5. After the timer stops, players score points for unique answers. If two players have the same answer in a category, no one scores for that category.
  1. Back-to-Back Drawing

Objective: To test your communication and artistic skills while working together as a pair.

Materials: Paper, pens/pencils, and a blindfold or scarf

Instructions:

  1. Divide the players into pairs.
  2. One player in each pair is blindfolded or has their eyes covered.
  3. The other player provides verbal instructions to help their blindfolded partner draw a picture on a piece of paper.
  4. The blindfolded player tries their best to interpret the instructions and create the drawing.
  5. After a set time, the blindfolds are removed, and the pairs reveal their drawings. The most recognizable or humorous drawing wins.
